The music department at Northwest Nazarene University鈥痺ill present the culminating concert of its annual jazz festival on Friday, March 27, at 7:30 p.m.鈥痠n the Brandt Center鈥痮n the N麻豆原创 campus.听
The concert will feature the N麻豆原创 Jazz Band鈥痑longside the Boise Modern Jazz Orchestra鈥痠n an evening celebrating big band jazz.听
The performance听concludes听a two-day jazz festival hosted by N麻豆原创 on Thursday and Friday, which brings together student musicians from more than 20鈥痵chools from across the Treasure Valley. Throughout the festival, participating students work with professional jazz artists, receive听feedback听and on-stage clinics designed to support and inspire the next generation of jazz musicians.听
Serving as this year鈥檚 guest clinicians are three distinguished jazz artists who will also be featured as soloists during the concert:听
- Eric Richards鈥 trombonist and composer听
- Gary Gemberling鈥 trumpet听
- Ben Nichols鈥 saxophone and composer听
The Friday evening concert provides an opportunity for the broader community to hear them perform alongside N麻豆原创 students and members of the Boise Modern Jazz Orchestra. A special thanks to the Dan Lucas Memorial Fund for supporting the event.听
