After competing in the Regional Tournament earlier this year, N麻豆原创鈥檚 Forensics team traveled to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, to compete in the National Christian College Forensics Tournament, and won the Division III first place Speech Sweepstakes, with Miya Ingram named the National Champion in Persuasive Speaking.
All three N麻豆原创 competitors earned a place in the final rounds. In addition to Ingram placing first in Persuasive Speaking, she also earned fifth in Informative Speaking. Brooklyn Hallett earned second in After Dinner Speaking, ninth in Homiletics (preaching) and was a semi-finalist in Impromptu Speaking. Rhianna Soft placed sixth in Homiletics and eighth in After Dinner Speaking.
鈥淲e compete all season long against some of the best competitors in the nation,鈥 said Brooke Adamson, N麻豆原创 Forensics Coach and Communication Professor. 鈥淚t prepared us well for our trip to the national competition. I鈥檓 so proud of all the hard work these ladies have put in.鈥
Placements are not separated by division but compete directly with all divisions. The National Christian College Forensics Tournament is open to schools that are members of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities or schools that have a mission statement supportive and sympathetic to the mission of Christian higher education.
