About Master of Divinity: Spiritual Formation
N麻豆原创鈥檚 75-credit M.Div. degree with specialization in Spiritual Formation is fully online and designed for busy adults. Complete one course at a time in as few as 51 months (with most summers off) or choose a more accelerated pace.
Explore a breadth of disciplines in your coursework including Pastoral Care, Leadership, Preaching, Christian Education, Bible, Theology, Worship, Evangelism, Church History and Philosophy. Additionally, you’ll add 32 focused credits to fulfill your M.Div. specialization in Spiritual Formation.
We welcome individuals from a variety of theological traditions. N麻豆原创鈥檚 program fulfills all academic requirements for ordination with the Church of the Nazarene, in tandem with district approval.

Program Outcomes
- Understand and be able to explain Wesleyan-Holiness theology as it relates to scripture, Christian tradition, reason and experience in the practice of ministry
- Identify characteristics of the cultural context of ministry and assess them through an appropriate theological perspective, compare existing cultures with alternative cultural expressions and develop personal and corporate practices consistent reign of God
- Practice the means of grace (spiritual disciplines) that lead to emotional and spiritual health, personal Christian theological virtue and responsible social engagement
- Integrate Christian theological themes in the understanding and practice of ministry and leadership
- Assess spiritual journeys鈥攆or individuals and communities鈥攆or the purpose of creating a spiritual formation plan that will stimulate growth in acts of piety and mercy (i.e., inward and outward holiness)
- Practice the role of being a spiritual director, by utilizing spiritual formation practices, to a local group in their ministry context
- Understand and develop spiritual formation practices, under the supervision of a mentor, that foster personal and spiritual growth
- Integrate the various ways spiritual formation may be part of the ministries of a local church in teaching, worship, preaching and mission
